philldohertyphotography.com | Intimate Landscapes

American photographer, Eliot Porter (1901-1990) pioneered the development of a sub-set of landscape and nature photography which he termed "Intimate Landscapes". Such images can be described in a number of ways: Larger than "Macro" photography, but far less than capturing grand landscapes. Rather, Intimate Landscapes showcase or isolate smaller segments of larger landscapes, concentrating on any of: textures, patterns, colours, angles, lines, shapes, and/or abstract features. A number of my past and present images fit within this genre.
